So you laid your paper pattern on the table in between the silverware and napkins and the Harper’s magazines

It’s been a while since I did anything other than altering thrift shop finds with my sewing machine, but after having it duct taped and superglued recently I finally got around to making a dress. :)
(The pattern is McCalls pattern from 1960 or 1961, I made the pencil-skirted version, but changed the neckline and left out the sleeves.)

This is very beautiful indeed. I’ve hopped over from the Burdastyle site after seeing your fabulous floral dress. Its amazing! I really love your photography too. Will you be doing more sewing in the future?

Thank you! I will definitely be doing more sewing, and perhaps I should try to get better at documenting it as well. ;)

I have a terrible habit of not finishing things, and it’s no exception with sewing, which means there is always a nice little pile of unfinished objects lying about, waiting to be hemmed or have a zipper put in or buttons attached. So things are never *quite* ready to be photographed. But I am working on it! Perhaps blogging about it will give me a bit of a push to actually get things finished? You’ve given me something to think about there. :)
